Add VPN functionality
Currently I am using a paid VPN service which is not compatible with the use of NextDNS . I would certainly consider buying a paid VPN from NextDNS if it were available.

No. NextDNS isn’t a VPN and it isn’t recommend using non-VPN DNS with VPN.
So, stop using your nonsense VPN or use their DNS.

To me it makes sense to use a vpn service to safeguard my wifi communicationProtect against what? With VPN you only add another attacker. Read also https://madaidans-insecurities.github.io/vpns.html

I don’t see why that would be nonsense ?Because you add leaks

I actually think that a VPN can be useful, for visiting sites you don't trusta VPN doesn't add any advantage for that case(s) but disadvantages.

I have two reasons why I want to use a VPN
- In some case, like when I Travel, I want to use open wifi networks.
- When I am in another country, content from my home country is not always available. With a VPN it is.
In my home country I usually don’t use my VPN subscription.
If it is nonsense to do so, could you do me a favor and tell me what else you’d suggest ? Obviously “don’t use open wifi is not helpful. I do that as little as possible anyway. -

Just avoid using important stuff over websites instead of Apps in untrusted WiFi and also always watch at URL bar and use only HTTPS. Done

Thank you.

VPN is needed to hide from ISP, DNS doesnt hide anything without ECH.
Content aside
