Adding a valid domain in AllowList results in error

Hi, I am trying to add:

*.salesmanago.com

but I get the error:

Enter a valid domain.

It accepts sub-domains of that domain, and adds them like:

*.support.salesmanago.com
*.www.salesmanago.com
*.app3.salesmanago.pl

But why the top level domain is not added?

Just add salesmanago.com and you'll be fine. Drop the *. It will be added by NextDNS.

Yup just to verify it was not some weird glitch I added the domain just fine on my account config.

the *. prefix is added automatically to allowlist/denylist entries so no need to actually type that out

lol you are correct, this was a dumb question. The takeout here is to write somewhere there or in the error: "do not write .*, it will be inserted automatically."

A a its sort of implicitly spelled out in the first part of the banner message display:

"Allowing a domain will automatically allow all its subdomains. Allowing takes precedence over everything else, including security features."

Below is the denylist banner message display:

"Denying a domain will automatically deny all its subdomains."

all its subdomains = the *. prefix being automatically applied to any allowlist/denylist entry
