Which cloud-sharing to choose from?

Hello you all,

I want to make my mobileconfig file accessible publicly so it can be downloaded, but is it safe (privacy-wise) to use Dropbox?
I have temporarily used Tresorit, but is it necessary to use a secure and privacy-orientated service to do so?

You can use https://www.swisstransfer.com Very secure, no need to create an account, but it has limitation: 30 days max and 500 downloads per day.

Hi Pierre Cartier , thanks for reaching out. I have tried SwissTransfer, but sadly it doesn't offer a direct download-link which is required.

Tom J. It does offer it.

Pierre Cartier, not where the link, when you "click" on it, downloads the file you need, without any further steps.

On SwissTransfer when clicking on the link, you’ll first be received with a welcome-screen with info about who shared the link and so on. And you would have to click on a button, before a download begins. :/

I think I  didn't understand you. You want a link that when you click you get a direct transfert without to open a webpage?

If so, I don't know. All Cloud providers I know always open a webpage where you must click the link and choose the download folder on your device.

Also, a direct link breaches security practice because you don't know where it comes from. I don't think official and clean Cloud providers offer such possibility.

Also, I don't see what is the big deal to click on a page. Clockology groups use mainly mediafire.com to share watch faces and some even Dropbox. You don't even need to have an account to get the files.

So I don't really see what you are trying to achieve with a direct link....🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes, a direct transfer without without to open a webpage.
It’s because you needed when configuring a Apple TV with NextDNS (https://apple.nextdns.io/).

So that’s bring me back to:

But thanks for trying to help. Appreciate it :)

Tom J. Can the file not be shared locally on your network?

I found a solution, or NextDNS made one by automatically making the config available via Tinyurl, when you generate a configuration profile.

Tom J. You said you wanted to make your NextDNS profile public for download which was sound strange BTW.

You should have been more specific, I would have told you how I installed NextDNS for my ATV... 😉 But glad you succeeded.
