NextDNS Windows app error

How can I use NextDNS Windows app with a VPN? NextDNS is installing TAP driver, but it conflicts with my VPN. Is there a workaround for that?

I tried with Yoga, but it is not working properly. If I use default NextDNS option, I can't connect to anything. All I got was "Error in getaddrinfo: No such host is known.". I created manual entry for NextDNS afterwards with DNSCrypt and then YogaDNS worked but it didn't register my computer name in the dashboard.

What can I do?

  • This will be solved with Windows 11 as our app will trade its TAP driver against the native windows DoH support.

NextDNS That is great to hear. I have to wait for Windows 11 then.

One more question. Is there a way to identify a Windows 10 device without installing any applications? My configured my router for NextDNS ipv4 and ipv6 servers but my work laptop is not identified, and its logs are coming under all devices in the dashboard.

Considering my company will not permit me to install any apps, I need to find a solution for it. Also, Windows 11 release date is still not certain, so logs will continue to get mixed with my personal computer.

    • Naxterra not with Windows 10. With windows 11, you will be able to use netsh to configure DoH manually.
