NextDNS not blocking domains

I'm using Adguard for Android to set my device's DNS to NextDNS. Both have their own filtering log and I see that NextDNS doesn't block vortex.data.microsoft.com but is blocked by Adguard.

 

I also see Adguard blocks it using the Adguard Tracking Protection filter which is also added to NextDNS. The filtering rule that blocked it is ||vortex.data.microsoft.com/collect

    The AdGuard app is before the DNS, not after. What is blocked in AdGuard does not reach the DNS. So NextDNS can't block something that doesn't exist.

    If you use ad blocking in browser, that is the first filter, then AdGuard, then NextDNS.

    Also, that AdGuard filtering rule is for a URL it seems (because of the `/collect` suffix).

    NextDNS can only filter on domains (so the entire `vortex.data.microsoft.com` domain).

      Ron Estacion I can’t predict the future, but since NextDNS is a DNS service I don’t expect them to create entirely different software/services to filter URL’s.
