This device is not using NextDNS

Hi, I tried setting it up with ipv4 on the router, but it says This device is not using NextDNS. A DNS leak test shows a connection to two servers connected to dns.nextdns.io. Misaka Network and Choopa, LLC

Thanks

    No, I'm on Windows. I'm using a netgear router.

    Those are NextDNS hosting providers in your region.

      NextDNS If it's connected to the nextdns servers, then why is it saying "This device is not using NextDNS" ?

    Same problem.  Somehow, Cox is overriding my router DNS settings. IPv4 and v6.

    This device is not using NextDNS.
    This device is currently using ”ASN-CXA-ALL-CCI-22773-RDC” as DNS resolver.

    That's Cox. - https://ipinfo.io/AS22773

    From test.nextdns.io:

    {
        "status": "unconfigured",
        "resolver": "184.178.226.13",
        "srcIP": "98.161.XX.XX", (obfuscated)
        "server": "anexia-dal-1"
    }

    From dnsleaktest.com:

    Query round    Progress...    Servers found
    1        ......        3
    IP    Hostname    ISP    Country
    184.178.226.11    None    Cox Communications    Omaha, United States
    184.178.226.12    None    Cox Communications    Omaha, United States
    184.178.226.13    None    Cox Communications    Omaha, United States

      JB Holzhey In your case it seems the ISP is redirecting UDP 53 traffic to their own. You'd have to use the nextdns app/cli to route through DoH/DoT

      Martheen Thanks! Much appreciated. However, I think I may have committed a total n00b mistake. By coincidence, we ended up losing our Internet connection the other day, so I ended up restarted both router and modem, and magically, NextDNS was finally working as the default DNS provider. Coincidence or not, it looks like I'm good to go.
